Pre-race email

Thank you for attending the Race of Hope 09. We have a great weekend planned. Please read through the following info and share with your team mates.

We will be at Lake Hope all day Friday setting the course. Racers are welcome to come to the primitive group camp after 5pm.
Signs will be posted.
Do not be exploring the forest or trails on Friday. Stay on the roads or risk DQ!!
This event will go on rain or shine. BE PREPARED!!!


Schedule; Staging- 7:30-8:30 am MAP to staging areas


Boats, PFD's and paddles should be staged with the volunteer at the SW corner of the beach. If you are renting boats from the park, you should be there at 8am. Once rentals are finished you should check your boat back in before leaving the beach.

Bikes and all biking gear should be staged with the volunteer at The Furnace.

We will have five disciplines including (not in order) running, paddling, biking, trek "O", and a ROGAINE finish. Once you leave the start line you will NOT return until the ROGAINE finish, take or stage all gear that you will need for the first 4 disciplines.


Sign-in 7:00-8:45 am Each person needs to bring two copies of a correctly filled out waiver with you.

First place solo will receive a pair of North Face Hedgehog GTX XCR shoes.

First place team will receive Wasatch Gregory Packs.

Second place overall will receive a FREE entry into The Chalagawtha Green Corn Moon ROGAINE.

Third place overall will receive a 50% discount entry into The Chalagawtha Green Corn Moon ROGAINE.

and Last place overall will receive a Coleman watch gift set.

Bring some extra cash for the split the pot and make a donation to The Friends of Lake Hope and American Cancer Society. We have about $330 dollars that we will donate from registrations to honor our fallen friend Kim. $500 would be a great goal to meet, so bring your cash or checks.
